The French Revolution
The french revolution was a major political revolution from 1789 to 1799. The major political change was the goverment went from a absolute monarch to a goverment based on enlightenment principals. 1789 started the first year of the Revolution in frence to keep its absolate monarch goverment. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen is what secured the absolute monarch for three more years. In 1792 a republic was declared to be the main goverment in france, the republic was secured when king louis xvI was excuted the next year.This action brought heavy external threats from other countries and goverments.The french revolutionary wars started in 1792 wich lead to Maximilien Robespierre to take power of the goverment and made it a dictatorship. Robespierres rule as a dictator was known as a reign of terror because he killed 16,000 to 40,000 people, his reign was from 1793 to 1794. At the end of 1794 robespierre was excuted for his reign and from 1795 to 1799 a new ruler amerged Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon bonaparte restored the absolte monarch to power but with a few changes of his own.
The English Civil War
The english civil war was a political revolution in england. This political revolution changed the goverment from a english monarch to a commonwealth of england. The war lead by king charles was a battle between armed people and political monarchies. There were three wars during this big war, the first and second wars gained the support of the people for king charles political campaign against the long parliament. The third war however was won by the rump parliament wich lead to the trial and excution of king charles and the exile of the rest of king charles family. This allowed the political parties to get rid of the english monarch and assurt there own goverment, the commonwealth of england.
